Outskirts of Temple Rock Military Base
    October 6th, 0917
    7:23 AM

The morning brought the sun to the barren wasteland of ashen agony, and along with the sun, the wind came in full force, blacking the sky with the dust, making little visible except one's own feet. It had been a long three days for the young woman to traverse her way into the wasteland, though the ruined metropolis over hills and plains till she reached the vast expanse of the desert, it was here, where she would truly have difficulty navigating. The wind brushed heavy on her, not a single speck of sand was felt warm against the skin, it only felt as sand paper against flesh, parts left uncovered only where torn by the wickedness that is a Ashen sandstorm.

It was just after seven till she noticed something not akin to the sand that normally was under her feet, she stepped on something hard and cracked, and with a quick inspection she would find faded pavement under her feet, about sixty feet wide and going on for miles  with only a dotted white line down the center, it was far to wide for a normal highway, so one would assume its a airstrip.

It took a ten minutes for her to cross the strip of pavement till she walked over massive lettering on the ground, "Temple Rock Airbase" was written in bold letters, telling her that she is exactly where she needed to be, the only part left of her quest left was to make her way into the complex that lays below, for this she would need to find one of the massive elevator's that one elevated warplanes onto the runway from their underground hangers, the map she was given would give her a code to activate one of these said elevators.

Iris sighs, taking a short rest, setting down her backpack. Took long enough to find this place... This sandstorm is working out nicely though. With how dark it is, I'm sure no one will see me...She ties back her hair, puts on her balaclava, night vision goggles, gloves, jacket, and lets her pants down to her ankles in that order.

Turning on her night vision goggles, she puts her backpack back on and approaches the elevator. She looks for a way to possibly climb down, as an elevator of this size would be noisy and alert people of her presence. Seeing no possibility as the elevator is perfectly level with the ground, she sighs and starts the elevator, hiding behind the wheel of the plane on the elevator as it goes down into the complex. This could have gone smoother...

The old and clearly destroyed aircraft sitting on the elevator would provide good cover for the girl as she descended down into the base. the sounds of a massive hydraulic motors start moving, the rusted metal of the elevator creeks and moans as it slowly lowers, metal sparks are seen on one side as the edge of the elevator scrapes against the walls of the shaft.

As soon as the elevator is below the height of the cockpit of the downed aircraft on it, a massive blast door covers the hole left by the descending elevator. Now that the wind has been stopped, she got a few minutes to look around the poorly lit elevator compartment, no escape hatch or anything of that nature is seen.

The elevator would drop fifty more feet before stopping, a bright yellow strobe light would signal another blast door opening allowing access into the hanger. as soon as the door closed she would be greeted with a very odd sight, a hanger, containing dozens of untouched warplanes, stuck underground by the one downed on the elevator, the sit shinning in their factory grey, what was once the pride of a nation is now stuck forever under thousands of tons of earth.

The hanger itself was very empty, only the planes and the tools once used to maintain them remain, seems no security was in this room, across it she would see what looks like passages ways deeper into the base.

the map would tell her to go to "Launch Tube Seven." the problem was, the ICBM launch tubes where across the entire base, she would no doubt meet the occupants on the way in.

Iris begins making her way across the hangar, hiding behind planes as she moves, just in case there is a stray guard around. She follows the map down a certain hallway, headed to the next room, being sure to utilize her cover and stay out of lights as much as possible.

The young woman would move though hundreds of feet of empty concrete passageways, with no cover what so ever, it was only till she reached a door marked "Command Complex." that she would meet the first security, a rotating camera covering the metal blast door in, if she timed it right she could get past it and with its lack of microphone, she would be able to rotate the blast door's lock without having to worry about being heard.

She looks at the camera, studying its movements for a few seconds before unlocking the blast door and counting in her head 3... 2... 1... now. She opens the blast door and stands uner the camera, waiting for it to look the other way before moving along. Good thing I'm so short or this would never have worked...

The door was spring loaded to close automatically as one moves though it so it slammed shut as she walked though it, she would quickly find that this area is far different then the hanger she was in before, it's walls where dark in color yet it was lit and instead of long hallways that made no turns, this one did, about a dozen different doors where along this single hallway alone, living quarters of some kind.

the sound of metal hitting floor was heard farther down the hall way, just where it started to turn, then a bright flashlight going down it, the first guard of this place was coming, however due to the many rooms in the nearby hallway, hiding form him would be rather easy. the sound was getting closer, if she did not act fast, the guard would be within line of sight of her in moments.

Iris quickly hides behinds a nearby doorway, leaving the door open, and hiding behind the door. She pulls out her karambit, waiting for the guard to either pass her by, not noticing the door, or notice it and investigate.

Moments later she would hear the sound get very loud, them the sounds of mechanical parts moving in between each stomp, whatever it was was very heavy. A muffled voice spoke, clearly whoever it is is obscured by a helmet "War room, This is scorpion 7, Rear living quarters clear, not a soul down here, have the motion sensors in this sector inspected tonight when Rabbit gets back on shift." the voice was silent for a few moments "Really? some one seriously lowered the hanger elevator, fucking dammit, those blast doors up there weigh two hundred and seventy tons, they don't open easily, tell rabbit to get that open when he gets back as well." the voice was silent past then, the stomping sound got quieter as it moved down a different hallway.

The girl releases her breath she had been holding slowly and silently Guess I'm not going to be taking anyone down with armor like that... She looks around the corner, not seeing the guard, then walks down the hallway, sheathing her karambit behind her back

As she walked, dozens more of these rooms are seen to her right and left, this seems to be the farthest rear of the living quarters according to the map, and most likely the least used. She came at a cross roads in the hallway former a "T" shape in the hallway, on the wall in the center was a large logo she had seen somewhere before, the same markings on the security camera in the market.

The hallway to the right was marked "Armory and Command Board." the one to the left was marked "Motor Pool And Tube Access."

Iris looks at the map, noticing that both rooms could lead her to her destination, but the armory would mean going the long way around. However, it would also be a safer route. Armories have large rooms with plenty of places to hide and although a longer route, this room would be less exposed along they way. After debating it in her head, she goes right, sneaking into the Armory.

She would quickly find herself in a situation she would not want to be in, she would find two of the power armored guard's facing away from her, looking at technical screens of some kind, however both of them did not wear helmets or carry weapons at the moment. the spoke to each other, one of them was female, clearly by her voice and long hair running down her sides [Female guard] "Mark, don't be stupid, do you really expect me to believe the Arch knight would be dumb enough to let that happen?" the man replied [Male guard] "He was dumb enough to recruit you Zoey." the male would receive a steel gauntleted slap to the face in response, he then just glared, blood running from his nose [Male guard] "You could have just told me i was being rude." the female just shrugged, her shoulder pads rising up and down to make the movement more clear. The two seem occupied with their work, she could easily sneak past them

A single guard without a helmet might be possible to get the attack on, but with two to deal with, Iris decides it would be better to just sneak past them rather than try to kill one and take on the other face to face. She carefully and silently move across the room, trying as hard as possible to blend in with the shadows.

The two guards continued their various works, not turning around while the girl was able to sneak easily by them, she then came into the first of the many weapon stores inside the complex, rows apon rows of weapons, even a room filled with howitzers, long having expended their ammunition they have become little more then cover for the girl to make it past the various cameras. A couple of heavily armored guards patrolled the isles of weapons but where easily avoided due to their lack of hearing and limited sight. A few more rows and she would reach two more hallways, one marked "War room and central command." and the second says "Motor pool and launch tubes access." according to the map, she would exit the motor pool at south end, very close to tube access, allowing her to avoid most of the guards in the motor pool.

She slips past the cameras and guards, entering the motor pool door, and crossing the short distance to the launch tube access door. She crouches down next to the door, looking briefly through the window before crouching back next to the door to take in what she just saw.

The girl would find the motor pool to be massive, hundreds of feet across containing almost three dozen large six by six vehicles with massive generators on their backs, and what seems to be attachment points for power armor, clearly some sort of deployment method for battery operated armor that the guards here use, allowing for charging in the field. Along with the vehicles she would see almost a hundred of the power armored guards with weapons ranging from heavy rifles to rocket launchers, even a couple with massive steel shields and electric batons. a couple dozens unarmored workers, mostly maintenance crews, strangely they all seemed to be far younger then the guards.

Now that she was in the Access hallway, she would hear water running and massive pumps working, the owners of this installation turned some the expended ICBM tubes into water tanks for the facility. the hallways got tighter and narrower as she went, till she reached the tube marked "#7" the one she was to stop at and enter, a heavy bulkhead door was all that stopping her.

Iris flips the light switch, turning the lights off as she enters, looking at the door through her nightvision goggles. She becomes slightly distraught. There's no way I'm gonna get this thing open... She steps back, observing the door to see how it would normally be opened.

The large bulkhead door had large steel bars running across its length to keep it from opening from a simple push, these bars where connected to large electric motors, seemingly used to pull the bars back when the door is unlocked. Once she looked over the frame of the door she would notice a little sign and small black box with a glowing red LED on it. The sign read "Arch Knight approval required for entry, punishment for failing to comply, death." the black box held a spot where the key fob would fit.

Iris examines the box, then pulls out the key from the side pocket where she put it. She is thankful that she didn't have to steal one from a guard. She unlocks the door.

A red flashing strobe above the door activates as the heavy steel bars get pulled back, causing a heavy screaching sound as they are pulled back, then with a hiss of air the door unlocks and is pushed back, showing a staircase leading even farther into the earth, it was dimly lit and showed little of what was below.

Iris looks around, looking for signs that guard have heard the sound and are coming towards her. No, she was sure guards heard the sound. The matter in question was whether or not they were pursuing it. If so, she didn't have much time. She rushes inside and shuts the door behind her, hoping that the steel bars would shut again so she wouldn't be followed as easily. Still having her night vision goggles on, she doesn't worry about the dim light. In fact, it would be better with no light at all... she thinks as she takes the pistol and shoots out the lights one by one while making her way down the stairs. She tries to be hasty while making her way down the staircase to get some sort of lead on the guards, but is careful to take her time with aiming so a misfire doesn't hit any metal and make a loud noise. Any guards that are following her would surely have a hard time moving down stairs in compete darkness.

The young girl would come apon a massive steel blast door, 20 feet across and ten feet high, across its rusted face are the words "Authorized Access Only, Top Secret." at the bottom of the mighty door was the logo she kept seeing all over the base, along with another place to put a key fob, most likely the second one she was given would unlock this door.

The room was so dark, even night vision was blind as no source of light at all provided illumination, it was total black and as soon as she was though the door, it slammed back down and locked tight with a hiss of air. It was only when a sudden red light came on, about the size of a silver dollar, about 6 and a half feet in the air did she see anything, but it was too late for what came next, a massive fist made of some brown metal warped around her neck and lifted her up onto her feet, then the sound of a voice coming from a respirator speaks to the girl "I see you won my little contest." in a deep old tone, the figure then dropped her straight down "How does it feel to be the only infiltrator to make it down this far?"
